Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Mates Florida (“we”) collects, uses and shares your personal information when you visit matesflorida.com, use our services or make a purchase. Mates Florida is the controller of your personal information.
Information we collect
Information you give us directly: name, email, phone, shipping and billing address, order details and payment confirmation, account details, and anything you write to us when you contact us. Usage information: data about how you use the site, such as device, browser, IP address, approximate location and pages visited, collected through cookies, pixels and similar technologies. Information from third parties: providers that help us run the store, such as Shopify and our payment processors.
How we use your information
To process and ship your orders, manage payments, returns and your account, and send you notices about your purchases. To provide customer support and improve our services. To detect and prevent fraud. To send you news and promotions by email; you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in each email, and you will still receive notices about your orders. If you live in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we use your information to perform our purchase contract with you, based on our legitimate interest in operating and protecting the store, or with your consent where applicable.
Who we share your information with
With providers that work for us, such as payment processing, shipping, site hosting, customer support, analytics and review management (for example, to send you an invitation to review your purchase). With advertising and social media partners, as explained in the next section. With our affiliate program: if you arrived through an affiliate link, we share data about that purchase to assign the corresponding commission. When required by law, to respond to legal process, or to protect our rights and those of our customers. In the event of a sale or merger of the business.
Advertising and your choices
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share browsing data, purchase data and device identifiers with advertising and social media partners, such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Pinterest and Google, to measure our ads and show you more relevant ads. Some of this data is sent directly from our store to these partners and includes contact information protected by encryption. Under the laws of some states, this may be considered “selling” or “sharing” information. You can ask us not to do this by contacting us, and if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out request for that browser. We do not knowingly sell or share information of anyone under 16. We do not use sensitive personal information without your consent.
Cookies
We use cookies to make the site work, remember your preferences, analyze how it is used and, with advertising partners, show you ads. Some tools, such as our affiliate program tracking, always run so that sales commissions can be assigned correctly. You can block cookies in your browser, although some site features may stop working. Our site does not respond to “Do Not Track” signals. Learn more about Shopify’s cookies at shopify.com/legal/cookies.
Reviews and public content
If you post a review or other content in a public area of the site, that content will be visible to anyone.
Security and retention
We protect your information with standard security measures, although no system is infallible. Your payment details are processed securely and we do not store them on our servers. We keep your information for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations and resolve disputes.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your information, request a copy, limit its use, withdraw your consent, or object to its use for personalized advertising. To exercise these rights, contact us; we may ask you to verify your identity. You may designate an authorized agent to make the request on your behalf. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our response. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Complaints
If you have a complaint about how we handle your information, please contact us first.
International users
Your information may be processed and stored in the US and in other countries where our providers operate. When we transfer data from Europe, we use recognized transfer mechanisms, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
Children
Our services are not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has given us information, contact us so we can delete it.
Third-party sites
Our site may include links to other sites or social networks. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post the new version on the site with the update date.
